Early Summer Fun

Here are some examples of what we did just as school got out and before it got to be 100 degrees outside. Luke will be on summer vacation for 14 weeks. To be honest, I was/am a bit nervous about having both kids all day everyday. I hope I am able to keep them busy with fun stuff, but keep them learning.

In order to keep my sanity, I have made a list of center type activities for inside and outside, special trips, weekly goals and daily musts. As of the end of May/beginning of June, we have three summer goals: 1 - Quiet time in their rooms for 30 minutes each day, 2 - No hitting or pushing (that is new for Luke right now) and 3 - Clean up before nap time and bed time (Luke actually does a good job with this especially if I set the timer).

Playtime outside:

The see saw is a big hit...Cassidy likes it and Luke loves it. He likes to roll it over and Cassidy isn't too fond of that.

Luke likes to try out the trike every once in awhile. He really doesn't like to try to pedal. He may be 4 or 5 before he gets this skill down. However, he does enjoy the razor and can do that one pretty well.Building blocksOkay, so I'm going to take it easy today while I paint. Luke loves to paint the stamps!

A trip to the zoo. We love the zoo so much that we are members. The Atlanta Zoo has all the animals, a great play area, carousel and train ride. We typically go in the morning, pack a picnic lunch and come home around nap time. This trip we had friends go with us. It was alot of fun.

Since I don't enjoy the reptiles, we typically don't go into the reptile house. However, Noah wanted to see them. So, we got to see a new animal on this trip. Luke loved them!!!

Well, I want to see the panda I am suppose to be...

Two birdies in the nest.

Yes, trying to get all four wasn't exactly easy.

One fun thing that I did is finish a book, Outliers. I haven't read in so long. It was a great book and highly recommend it.

Looks like a great time.

Next year, I will have to incorporate the centers idea.
