Welcome baby Emily Jane

Wow...March 31st, I was there to welcome one of my best and dearest friend's new baby into the world, Emily Jane. She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and 20.5 inches long at 5:30pm.

My sweet neighbor said she would watch Cassidy and Luke during nap and then I had arranged a babysitter to keep them until I got home. So, off I went to visit Sissy and Chip while they were in labor. Shelley and her family were already there. Sissy was well into the labor and in lots of pain with contractions every 2 - 3 minutes.

Sissy managed her pain incredibly and didn't ask for drugs or an epidural. So...she needed as much support as she could get; therefore I was fortunate to be in the delivery room with Chip and Sissy when Emily Jane was born! It was the most incredible experience (of course, the absolute were the birth of my own children). I had never witnessed a birth (even my own). It is a little different watching someone else's. I'm still in awe at how Sissy managed the pain. I could have never done it. Go Sissy. Chip was a great coach/hubby/daddy too!

Congratulations Sissy and Chip on the birth of your beautiful baby girl. I am very honored to have been there for the birth. Thank you.
Isn't she beautiful....this is after she has had a bath and had been checked out.
