Putting up the tree. . .

This past weekend, we officially started decorating for Christmas. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of us picking out the Christmas tree (I forgot the battery at home...). It was a fun day. David, Luke and I picked out the tree and brought it home. Grandmama and Cassidy stayed at home (while Cassidy slept). We all participated in decorating the tree and the house. It was nice. After most of it was done, David made us hot chocolate to enjoy! Of course, we had Christmas music on while we decorated.

We haven't come up with too many traditions yet, but this is the one we do have...live tree, hot chocolate, and music. We also have a Christmas bear that reads the "Night Before Christmas" that Luke and Cassidy enjoy (Grandmama bought it when Luke was 6 months old). I did buy a Christmas story book this year that I plan to read to the kids for a few years. It is a board book, so it won't be a permanent fixture. However, I'm sure we will just graduate books. The plan is to read it a few times leading up to Christmas Eve and read it again on Christmas Eve and morning. ...So we have three traditions so far: 1 - Tree Decorating/Hot Chocolate/Music, 2 - Christmas Bear reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas", and 3 - Christmas Story

Putting the stand on...

Luke helping Daddy. This is the first winter that I remember in many years that we have actually needed a coat for more than a couple of days. It has been in the 20s at night and in the 40s during the day.

Mama and David helped me with the lights...we have white and colored lights.

Playing trains is hard work :-)

The weekend was full of activities. Mama and I went to a brunch at JFB and sat at Eva's table that she very beautifully decorated. Lisa Harper was the speaker and Kim Hill was the vocalist...both were wonderful. If you ever get the chance to listen to her..I do recommend it. Very fun morning. Luke and Cassidy took a picture at the church.
David and I went to our Sunday School party. It was nice to have a date without worrying about the kids and when we were coming home. We were home and in bed by 11:30, but it was still nice.
