Current Milestones

Before I get to the everyday, I need to catch up on Luke and Cassidy's happenings (aka milestones):

Since I usually start with Luke, I will start with Cassidy.

Cassidy is sitting up with no support (at 6.5 months). She is the happiest baby ever. She loves to watch Luke and laugh. She is so smiley and happy. She has the most laid back personality and loves people (especially when they pay attention to her).
Last week, she started getting table food (7 months) with her baby food (started baby food at 5.5 months) which includes: peas, black-eyed peas, cantaloupe, yogurt melts, dried apples, dried strawberries, dried bananas and plum. She isn't a fan of the plum yet. It must be a texture. Her favorite baby foods are carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, prunes, squash with corn, and green beans. She does not like peaches or peas.
She is a good sleeper when she is in her own room and crib (she has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 months old...and sporadically after 4 weeks). Since she is very social and doesn't like to be without people or miss anything, she doesn't sleep well out and about or when the car or stroller stops moving. She also won't take the paci, so sometimes the only way she can put herself to sleep is cry (moan and wine...usually not the whaling cry).
Her favorite toys right now are the cups, 'dino' and any piece of paper. But her favorite thing is to be held and play with mommy or daddy. I think she is going to be a daddy's girl, because anytime daddy comes in the room she just lights up!!!

Luke is a ball of energy. He wakes up moving and goes to sleep moving!!! He loves to do puzzles and he is currently able to do a 48 piece Diego puzzle by himself. Around 2 years, he started talking by repeating our words. Now, at 27 months, he is talking in sentences using them correctly like 'I want this', 'Mommy is sleeping' (I wish), 'Luke's juicy juice', 'Cassidy is awake', 'Luke wake up Cassidy', 'Daddy no work', 'Daddy work', 'Daddy, Mommy, Luke play', etc. His favorite word is NO. Right now, he loves to do the opposite of what we say and everything is no even if he really means yes. David said he is ready for this phase to end...me too.[r5
Luke enjoys arts and craft time where he does alot of stickers, marker coloring, and play doh. He also loves to get a book for us to read. His current favorites are Good Night Moon, Easter Eggs, Little People, Dora and Night Time prayers. Speaking of prayers, every night when we pray we always ask him who he wants to pray for and his response is always Anna and then Uncle Zeke. Although last week, he did add Miss Eva to it. His favorite past time are is his Thomas choo choos!! He loves the Thomas train set he received from Adam and Jacob. Mom loves it too, because now she can cook or do laundry in peace.
Last month (26 months), Luke graduated to a sleeping bag and then his toddler bed. We had NO issue whatsoever. He loves it. He goes to bed and calls for us in the morning. When he is ready to get out, he asks for us and then gets out by himself. He also started using his big boy quilt and choo choo pillow! Now, if the paci will be this easy. I doubt it. However, he has said he is going to give it to baby Maggies when she comes (Audrey's new baby sister).
Luke has learned his shapes and colors beautifully and is trying to learn his numbers. Today, he counted from 1 to 4!!!! Up until now, he would go 1, 2, 2, 1, 6. He gets the concept, but doesn't want to say the numbers. He knows (visual and verbal) about 15 letters (A, B, E, U, L, H, Z, C, F, G, J, K, M, O, and S).
Last but not least is his coordination. Luke loves to run, jump (since about 18 months), front somersaults, donkey kicks, kick a ball, throw a ball (he has been throwing overhand since he was 18 months), play freeze and monkey jumps. He attends Little Gym every week (not this past summer) and loves it. We love it, because it gives him an outlet of how to use his energy constructively. He can practice his jumping, rolling, and listening skills. He likes the balance beam and bars. His favorite are the big 'pillow' that he can roll on top of and go high witha roll at the end. He likes the swings and slides at the playground and any toy he can push around the park.
